Big turnout, good food, everyone looked like they had a great time. A good way to wrap up the basketball season. I wanted to thank everyone for the support you’ve showed me over the season. It was a fun year.

As with all action photography, the closer to the action the better. With limited financial resources to buy what the big boys get to use on a daily basis, a standard 70-200mm lens is usually the norm. Occasionally, you will also see a few 300mm prime lenses pop up on the sidelines. Those babies aren’t cheap.
I rented larger telephoto lenses frequently during football season and I really became enamored with a lens Sigma has that boasts a 120-300mm zoom at a constant f/2.8. What does this mean? Closer, sharper, more vibrant images. It also meant that once you get a taste for what a lens like that can do, it has to go on the wish list.
This week, I added it to my arsenal. The first game shot was the freshman baseball game vs. Red Oak. Get ready for really cool looking shots in the weeks ahead!
The weather has been killing my schedule in getting out to the girls’ games. I promise to do better in the coming weeks.
It’s hard to believe that the 2008 class is rapidly closing in on graduation. With the basketball banquet coming up, it marks another step toward the end of the year. I have been asked to take formal pics for the event, so get glammed up!
