Waco Midway fights back winning games 2 and 3

Last night was the most relaxed I’ve seen the girls all year. Early game jitters were apparent with some early defensive plays, however, it did nothing to deter the team’s enthusiasm. The ladies fell behind 2-0 through the middle of the game, but after tieing the game in the 5th, the girls played their hearts out and rallied in the bottom of the 7th.

The shots from last night are already posted. Good luck tonight in Waco!

Great start to the playoffs ladies! Next up… Seagoville for a one-game matchup on Friday, May 2, 7pm in Midlothian.

Road trip blown up by a rainout Friday night. Game moved to Saturday at 3pm in Waco. I unfortunately won’t be able to make the Saturday game. Go get ‘em!

I finally made it back to a girls softball game… and boy, did I hear it from the ladies. “Where have YOU been?” They’re tough! It was good to see the girls in action again.
Ennis got off to a fast start and seemed to have the game in hand going into the bottom of the 7th up 5-1 or 5-2. I wasn’t really paying that close attention at that point, but the Lady Panthers still had some fight left. They went on a hitting tear and got the game to 5-4. With two outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd, what looked like a game winning shot to deep center was somehow caught.

The weather has been killing my schedule in getting out to the girls’ games. I promise to do better in the coming weeks.
The road to the state championship stopped in Duncanville as Forney closed out the 3-game series with an impressive 7-1 win over Midlothian. Forney got a 3-run HR early and kept the momentum for the rest of the game.
It was great shooting the end of the season with you and look forward to next spring. Best of luck to the seniors as they count down their final days of high school.

Brittany throws to second.

Torri tagged at the plate.

Brittany can’t find the handle as collision takes place at home.

Regan scores with another close play at home.
Well, well, well. While I was looking for the Midlothian/Brownwood score, I discovered that Jessica was honored this week in The Dallas Morning News. Congrats!

Now I know why the photographer and the parents have gray hair. Eight scoreless innings pass before our Lady Panthers got rolling in the 9th. Tori smashes a shot to deep right field for a triple with Megan getting a base hit to drive her in.

Lindy warms up catching flies.

Kerri takes some grounders.

“I need some longer cleats…”

Looking for mojo.

Megan drives in the winning run.

Game 3 is tomorrow at noon. I had a photo shoot scheduled for early afternoon… had to push it back. I want to see this.
It’s 2:30 in the morning… the pics are up. And way past my bedtime. See everyone tomorrow.
